Position Summary:
Due to recent and ant i cipated growth Client is looking to upgrade its controller position. This individual will report to the Chief Operating Officer with dotted li ne r eporting t o the Chief Financia l Officer of Client. headquartered client is seeking a seasoned financial and accounting profess i onal to manage all accounting finance and treasury functions at th i s rapidly growing company. The Controller will have full responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the accounting and financial records procedures and controls of the company . The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years of increasing l y responsib l e experience in a manufacturing environment (with at least five years of supervisory experience) and the demonstrated ability to build and manage a high performing team. Extensive knowledge of and exposure to manufacturing operations is required. I nternat i ona l exper i ence is desirab l e . A BS/BA in Accounting is required as is a sound know l edge of Cost Account i ng .
Job Description (walk me through a day in the life):
- Maintain an information control system which provides the timely accurate and relevant financia l information necessary to properly manage the business
- Provide informed strategic f i nancial leadership to support the corporation's continued growth and the high quality of its undertakings
- Manage the daytoday operat i ons of the accounting function in the areas of genera l
- accounting cost accounting accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Review cost and other accounting functions and procedures and recommend and implement appropriate enhancements
- Review operating and management controls and procedures and recommend and implement appropriate enhancements
- Ensure that management information systems with i n the finance and accounting functions are appropriate to the current and projected requirements of the company and recommend enhancements as necessary
- Perform monthly analysis of financial operations and prepare reports on same
- Prepare budgets mon i tor actual performance against budget and make appropriate recommendations to i mprove performance
- Performance forecasts and projections to position the company for strategic growth and enhanced market share
- Coordinate and supervise the monthly and yearend closes in a timely and efficient manner
- Prepare schedules and analyses for the annual audit and manage relations with outside accountants and other service providers as appropriate
- Lead and organize the accounting department including:
Establishing an organizational structure responsive to corporate needs Interviewing hiring and training employees
Plann i ng assigning and d i recting their work
Appraising performance rewarding disc i plining and terminating employees
- Ensure that the accounting department is appropriate l y staffed and that emp l oyees are given the opportunity and encouragement to improve their ski ll s and progress professionally within the organization
- Ensure that a ll procedures practices and records are in full compliance with all appl i cab l e regu l ations l aws and estab l ished practices
Must Have 1: 810 Years Manufacturing Experience
Must Have 2: Experience in budgeting financial reporting benefits and tax
Must Have 3: 5 Years’ experience in Managerial position
Must Have 4: Cost accounting experience
Nice to Have: Multiplant experience (international)
Describe the Work Environment Smaller type of office/team. Controlled temperature. Office Setting working directly with COO CFO and General Manager. Candidate will be reporting directly to them and American partners.
