We are excited to have an Temporary Executive Assistant opportunity available June 2024 - July 2025.

Lethbridge School Division is looking for the ideal candidate for the position of Temporary Executive Assistant to the Superintendent reporting to the Superintendent. The ideal candidate will have school experience, high level of proficiency with technology skills, sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to think critically and synthesize information.

The Role As a member of the Superintendent's team, the role will focus on tasks associated with the executive function of the office of the Superintendent and the governance role of the Board of Trustees. A breadth of responsibilities include communication with various stakeholders, office management, application of critical thinking with data synthesis/analysis/presentation, itinerary planning and event organization. The successful candidate will represent the Division with a high standard of professionalism.

This position requires the following: -Strong oral and written communication skills. -Strong technology background and research abilities that show attention to detail -Proficiency with document preparation that is business professional. -Effective time management and organization skills. -Ability to work in a team atmosphere. -Strong problem solving skills and the use of critical thinking. -Understanding of the educational context and its challenges -Ability to be discreet and keep work related knowledge confidential -Ability to take initiative in managing sensitive and difficult situations -Ability to develop new procedures and leverage skills to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the office and representation of the Division to the public

The successful candidate must be highly confidential, a self-starter, personable, able to deal with the public, be a team player and have proven administrative skills. The individual must be flexible, decisive, be able to multi-task and display a high level of initiative and maturity. The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker and willing to find creative solutions.

What will you work? 1.0 FTE (35 hours per week) Some evening hours are required for scheduled meetings and events.

Education, Training and Experience required: -Combination of education and experience as an Administrative Assistant. -Completion of a two (2) year post-secondary diploma in a related field; such as an Administrative Assistant Diploma is considered an asset. -Proof of Grade 12 or General Educational Development (GED). If you have obtained your education outside of Canada, the Division will require a copy of your Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) or International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) confirming high school or post secondary equivalencies. **Candidates may be tested for computer proficiency

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide: -A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions. -A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services. -Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire. -Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire. -Hold and maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta drivers license.

Benefits Salary range for this position is $68,000 - $72,000 depending on education and experience.
