THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll, the Payroll & HR Coordinator is responsible for timely and accurate Canadian, US and international payroll and Human Resources assistance in areas such as compensation calculations, annual budget preparation and variance reporting, employment agreements, leave management, and maintenance of critical records. The Payroll & HR Admin works as part of the Total Rewards team to ensure Vantage Airport Group payroll compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

Payroll

• Prepare and process bi-weekly payrolls for Corporate Office, US office and Canadian subsidiaries (union and non-union) under the supervision of Manager, Payroll.
• Prepare and submit or coordinate monthly payroll for select international subsidiaries.
• Prepare payroll journal entries for the Finance group.
• Liaise with employees on new-hire payroll orientation, payroll-related queries including tax forms, and end of employment calculations and records of employment.
• Complete year-end payroll activities in compliance with local requirements (e.g. T4’s, accrual calculations)
• Prepare payroll-related calculations, reconciliations and reports as required.
• Maintain employee payroll information in ADP WFN.
• Review and submit benefits invoices to the Finance group for processing.

 

Human Resources

• Performs administrative functions including generating reports, maintaining employee files, processing changes to employee records in the HRIS, and maintaining HR data, forms, and documents.
• Support the HR team by:
• Preparing various letters and employee agreements.
• Assisting in setup of the learning modules at Vantage.
• Involvement in recruitment as required.
• Creating email communications, documents, and presentations.
• Coordinates HR and other HR driven meetings, takes meeting notes and follows up on projects and assignments as needed.
• Assists with onboarding new hires.
• Works with external supplier to coordinates ergonomic assessments for employees.
• Other duties and projects commensurate with the role as assigned.

ABOUT YOU

You possess the following experience and abilities:

• Minimum 3 - 5 years directly related Canadian and US payroll experience.
• Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation (PCP) would be considered an asset.
• Experience with ADP WFN is required.
• Intermediate MS Office skills.
• High level of confidentiality.
• Strong analytical skills, with consistent, high-quality, accurate results.
• Motivated to take ownership and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
• Good judgement, especially in interpersonal relationships and communications; ability to speak and write clearly, appropriate to the audience, showing multi and intercultural awareness.
• Creative, inquisitive, ability to keep in mind the ‘big picture’ while attending to details.
• Organizing and prioritization skills, including ability to be flexible with changing priorities.

The salary range for this role is $68,000 - $82,000 CAD.
