askatoon Retina Consultants is seeking a Part time/Casual Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinic. Office hours are Monday to Friday. The position is approximately 1-2 days a week. We are a fast paced Ophthalmology clinic specializing in Retinal Disease and Surgery.
Job description includes preliminary testing of patients (medical history, visual acuity, intraocular pressures, and instillation of eye drops) and diagnostic testing (Fundus photography, OCT, Visual fields, Biometry, Optomap and Keratometry). Assisting with preparations for intraocular injections and laser treatments. Ensuring smooth clinic flow by assisting physicians and various tasks as needed. General reception duties including answering phones, booking appointments .

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician / Optician is required but we will train. Experience with Accuro EMR is a strong asset.
