Our private sector client, a community animal protection organization, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their team on a permanent, on-site basis.

About you
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 4+ years of experience working in human resources
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources
- Demonstrable HR experience contributing to building great HR systems
- To work on-site, in Ottawa, five days a week
- Experience with HRIS systems - ADP is preferred
- A certificate in management is preferred
About the role
If hired, you will:
- Develop, manage, monitor, and evaluate end-to-end HR functions: performance, professional development, recruitment, onboarding, training, off-boarding, employee relations, health and safety, recognition, retention, and engagement
- Develop strategies for achieving department and organizational goals
- Assist managers in staff recruitment, management, and termination
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the HRIS database and records
- Engage in collective bargaining and ensure compliance with the agreement
- Administer employee complaints, harassment, and whistleblower policies
- Collaborate with communications to implement communication strategies and gather and act on employee feedback
- Establish, implement, and evaluate standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assigned areas
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, contracts, guidelines, policies, and agreements
- Stay updated on HR best practices, trends, and employment legislation
- Attend required meetings, lead and manage department staff, including orientation, training, and performance management
