Reporting to the Energy Solutions Manager, Facilities and Construction Management, this position is responsible for collecting, collating and analyzing utilities data through valid methodologies. The Energy Data Analyst performs quantification of carbon emissions, while making use of the Town’s Energy Management System to represent data which assists with monitoring and measuring energy and carbon for performance of the corporate portfolio.
What can I expect to do in this role?Establish and maintain databases for energy and carbon data;
Analyze data and validate collected data;
Represent data in appropriate formats to support analysis, interpretation and delivery to technical and plain language audience;
Review and stay on current methodologies, reporting frameworks and new formats/data analysis techniques to support continuous improvements in data management processes;
Deliver and/or assist with delivery of data to technical and plain language audiences for outreach and education;
Support both staff and public outreach and education activities, while also supporting interdepartmental energy project teams;
Communicate results of analyses to various stakeholders (internal, external), including consultants working in the development of studies that will help the Town to achieve its objectives;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Completed College Degree in Environment, Energy or a related course of study;
Continued education course-work or experience in Energy Management, Energy Data Analysis, Communications/Outreach, Data Management or Software Applications;
2 years of related experience demonstrating progressive responsibility;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with various internal and external stakeholders in a courteous and logical manner;
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
Outreach experience and educational activities considered an asset.
