We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Construction Safety Specialist in our Whitby Head Office Location.

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an energetic, organized, and motivated Construction Safety Specialist who will be responsible for the daily management of all Health and Safety matters, both in office and in the field.

Job Responsibilities will include:
- Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationship with all staff members.
- Required to implement and manage a COR Safety Program in both the office and construction environments.
- Develop, modify, and implement Safety Policies as required to maintain and complete a COR Certification Audit.
- Support Stonhard Health and Safety procedures nationally.
- Ability to conduct On-Site and Facility Audits as required.
- Manage Incident reports and corresponding Workers Compensation documentation in its entirety. Facilitate the investigation process for all incidents, accidents and near misses. Coordinate a safe and healthy return to work program for any restricted workers.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- College/University certificate/degree in Occupational Health and Safety required with a minimum of 5 years experience.
- COR Auditor Certificate required.
- Minimum 2 Years experience in the Construction Industry required. Must have construction site experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and Teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety rules
- Must have own means of transportation with valid driver’s license.
- Excellent English written and oral skills. (Bilingual in French considered an asset)
- Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel etc.
- Personal Characteristics: Physically capable, detail oriented, results driven, team player, self-starter.
Job Type:
- Full-Time, Permanent
- This is an in-office position, generally from 8:30-5:00 but there is an opportunity to travel to different projects across the country as well as various local projects.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Occasional weekend and evening work – specific identified projects often dictate the hours.
