Job description
MTE Logistix Group of Companies is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Financial Controller to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this exciting opportunity is responsible to evaluate, establish, and maintain the organization’s finance and accounting procedures and systems in compliance with internal policies and government regulations. Through effectively and efficiently managing priorities, the Financial Controller is a key contributor to the achievement of the department’s operational deliverables.
Job duties include:
- Supervision of accounting & administrative staff, including hiring, training & review - A/P, A/R, Payroll, Reception
- Preparation and completion of year ends – December 31st year end audited statements
- Filing of regulatory returns - GST/WCB/T4's/ROE
- Monthly financial preparation of internal financial statements for management
- Review, approval and some processing of company payroll
- Pension and benefit administration
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset tracking
- Backup for transactional positions
- Assignments/reports as requested by the President, Private Capital ownership, and other members of the executive team
- Manage insurance portfolio across properties
- Look for cost savings, digitization and process improvements across the enterprise
- Support M&A activity
Required
- 5 years’ experience as a Financial Controller (or equivalent progression into that role)
- 2 years’ leadership experience
- Strong and proven attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, analytics and developing reports experience, and verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with 3PL warehousing and/or transportation
- Experience working with private capital ownership
- Knowledge of Acumatica ERP and Korber WMS
