Occupation Health & Safety Coordinator Air North - Yukon's Airline Whitehorse, YT Full Time Compensation: $23 Hourly Health, Dental, Flights

Wage: $23 per hour

Hours of Work: Permanent Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Location: Whitehorse, Yukon

The OH&S Coordinator reports to the Safety Manager and is responsible for assisting the Safety Manager with all Occupational Health and Safety matters for Air North, Yukon’s Airline. This is a dynamic position that will work closely with other departments to ensure the Company meets and exceeds the Canada Labour Code and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Standards. As the company’s resident expert on OH&S, you will interact with several teams and departments, supporting them in a variety of ways

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Conducting training for employees and contract personnel.
• Maintain the Company Safety Manual
• Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Company’s QMS/SMS software.
• Investigating and maintaining a database of all accidents, incidents and hazards.
• Perform OH&S audits on site and at times remotely.
• Action and rectify OH&S regulatory findings generated from external audits.
• Provide oversight for our Workplace Health and Safety Committee (OHS)
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Part II of the CLC and support initiatives to ensure
• Collaborate with other departments to develop safety actions
• Developing training modules
• Contributing to the development of policies and procedures as they pertain to OH&S.

Qualifications/Conditions of Employment

• Excellent communication skills working with a diverse group of teams and individuals
• Knowledge of Canadian Occupational Health/ Aviation Occupational Health and Safety
• Strong computer proficiency and experience with the Microsoft Platforms
• Coursework or diploma in an OH&S related field is considered an asset
• Aviation experience is considered an asset.
• Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
