HR Manager: Leading our HR Team in North America
At an exciting time to join Score’s global team, we are looking for an HR Manager, based at our site in St. John's, to support with the implementation of our extensive, pivotal growth plans.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead our HR team in North America, reporting to the Group HR Director.

A varied role, the HR Manager’s primary responsibilities will be to:
- Lead, coach, and guide the HR team in North America
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance to Team Leaders, Managers and Directors, challenging and questioning as appropriate to support people and business issues
- Collaborates with the recruitment team to ensure that the recruitment framework is embraced and that we attract and retain the best talent for the region
- Delivery of, and participation in, business improvement initiatives with a specific focus on the People elements and how they reflect the Score Values
- Co-ordinate the allocation of role specific competency framework booklets to individual employees and ensure that assessments are completed as required for effective maintenance of the Competency Management System (CMS)
- Strengthen the organisation by coaching leaders to further develop their leadership capability and effectiveness
- Support the region with employee relations activities ensuring all actions taken are within policy, best practice and legal guidelines
- Drive a high performing culture by identifying and addressing performance differentiation
- Lead the performance management process across the region, is clear on the strategic objectives of the organisation and communicates/clarifies the role their team plays in delivery. Ensures that every employee has clear goals and objectives and are provided with continuous feedback in a timely, honest and constructive manner
- Manage the sourcing of cost-effective training solutions and ongoing administration of mandatory training requirements
- Actively seeks to encourage and employ diversity in their team and manages an inclusive workplace, bringing alternative perspectives, opinions and thinking to all aspects of their work
- Maintain employment law knowledge and HR skills
- Ultimately responsible for systems and data held by HR
- Any other reasonable duties which may require HR skills, knowledge or experience
Qualifications
- HR or Business Degree
- CPHR accreditation preferred
Experience
- Experience within a generalist HR leadership role
- Experience of leading a team
- Considerable experience in a senior HR business partnering/manager role, developing and driving people strategies through business leadership, ideally in different industries or organisations
- Experience of leading complex and challenging change programs and initiatives
- Able to demonstrate a robust and sound understanding and knowledge of all key HR practices such as senior recruitment andselection processes, performance management, people development, organisation development and reward
- Demonstrable experience and theoretical understanding of Employment Law
Behaviours & Skills
- HR Technical knowledge – depth and breadth of experience and understanding of a number of HR disciplines including Reward, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Relationship Management, HR Operations and Resourcing. Lead and support core people and talent processes and practices such as recruitment, talent development, performance management, organisational development and reward
- Effective negotiation, influencing and coaching skills
- Lead and inspire teams to achieve documented objectives
- Able to communicate at all levels of the business
- Ability to identify and implement operational change
- Good attention to detail, inquisitive, entrepreneurial, challenges existing processes
- Focused on completion of tasks - particularly those with extended timescales and numerous participants across multiple teams
