ABOUT GAMING

The Gaming branch is responsible to achieve annual revenue targets through provincially operated gaming activities that align with AGLC's vision of responsible gaming. The branch ensures that Gaming activities in the province are operated with integrity and social responsibility, aligning with Gaming Regulations and Board Policy and deliver on commitments to stakeholders in the province of Alberta.

Gaming activities included Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), Electronic Table Games (EGTs), Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs), Lottery and Online Gambling.

Salary: $1,896.80 - $2,413.50 bi-weekly

NOTE: This posting will be used to fill 6 temporary positions until the end of August 2022 for NAIT Co-op students in the applicable electronics based programs.
ONLY NAIT students in the applicable programs will be considered.


JOB SUMMARY

Are you a Co-op student currently enrolled in an electronics based program (EET, BET, NET, CNT) looking to gain valuable, hands-on work experience? Do you take a positive approach to your work, and would value learning from and contributing to a high performing team? As AGLC’s next Electronics Technician, you will have the opportunity to work as a shared resource between our Technical Operations and Electronics Repair teams.


Using your educational foundation, you will perform repairs and testing of gaming devices as well as troubleshooting and repairing electronic components and mechanical hardware. In Technical Operations, you willgain practical experience in the assembly, preparation, and testing of all Slot and VLT terminals (and their related equipment) being deployed to the various AGLC gaming networks. Under direction and guidance, you will install hardware, software and security equipment, as well as perform RAM clears and terminal set ups according to established criteria. Electronics Technicians also repair or replace any malfunctioning components and perform diagnostic testing of peripherals, and participate in the disposal (decommissioning) of these same devices including parts harvesting and testing of removed components.


In Electronics Repair, you will learn to troubleshoot, diagnose, test, repair, and verify all failed electronic andmechanical devices, parts, and assemblies in the gaming supply chain. You will also gain practical experience troubleshooting and establishing circuit analysis skills for the repair of complex electronic boards and systems,including soldering. You will work in a high volume, fast paced electronics repair facility and will have the ability towork on surface mount technologies.


We are seeking individuals who have superior attention to detail and the ability to perform all functions with a high level of accuracy and integrity, following established best practices. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent time management skills are essential to this position. The applicant must be proficient in computer applications including Excel, Word and Outlook, and have strong troubleshooting, problem solving,multitasking and technical skills. You are a creative team player who is flexible, cooperative, and are good at building strong relationships with your team members. Your willingness to learn and advance your technical knowledge and capability will make you successful in this role.
