Emergent is looking for a talented and experienced Director of E-Commerce and Consumer Strategy to join our team. The Director, E-Commerce & Consumer Strategy is responsible for setting and leading strategic direction, marketing and engagement for Emergent’s E-Commerce & Consumer Programs in Canada to ensure sales growth and to increase the market. This leader will ensure a high volume of account pull-through by building and maintaining effective relationships with businesses, B2B accounts, and national organizations across Canada. The role will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to direct reports in marketing and consumer engagement. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, strategic, well-spoken, results-oriented person with the ability to work proactively and confidently with cross-functional stakeholders internally and with all external stakeholders including business, association and government leadership. This a hybrid role with a strong preference for a candidate living in the Ontario.
Essential Functions
Working collaboratively with the Commercial Leadership Team and cross-functional team to establish a business plan to meet and exceed access and pull-through goals for various account types including business, provincial and national associations, Naloxone Distribution Programs, and other similar and/or large strategic accounts.
Develop strategies and tactics to exceed objectives for the B2B and consumer market as noted within the overall Canadian business plan, prepare, and present an annual business unit plan and monthly update reports, analyzing each market channel potential, implementing performance metrics and suggesting improvements, assessing Emergent’s product’s market share, challenges/opportunities.
Oversee and manage commercial budget for E-Commerce & Consumer Programs; establish sales goals, forecasts, and manage/track expenditures vs. impact
Work collaboratively with the Commercial Leadership Team to identify, target, build and maintain effective relationships decision-makers with businesses, B2B accounts, and national organizations across Canada to influence vendor selection;
Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports on the development and execution of tactical plans that support the top line and bottom-line objectives and results
Increase utilization of NARCAN NASAL SPRAY 4MG through effective communication and adherence to a sequential process which includes preparation of client-specific presentations and other data to respond to client needs and effectively gain access;
Determine and anticipate potential changes within the government and B2B/consumer health care marketplace and have the agility to quickly take advantage of new business opportunities, working with the Government Affairs team so the appropriate steps can be initiated;
Leverage effective practices and processes to enable collaboration across functions, business units and cross-functional leaders
Expand knowledge base by: attending related educational programs; reviewing clinical publications; establishing personal networks with abuse deterrent, government and community healthcare partners and participate in local professional societies;
This role will also work in conjunction with various departments within the organization to drive access and remove barriers to the company’s products;

Education, Experience & Skills
- Bachelors’ degree or equivalent in the relevant field.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience across B2B/consumer focused on large corporate accounts and/or B2B/OTC sales in pharmaceutical or biotechnology focused on large corporate accounts, consumer/B2B marketing roles with documented successes.
- Understanding of how the political environment (both local and national) can affect patient access to products.
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to optimize revenue growth, profitability, customer service and human productivity
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to develop teams and inspire them to give their best everyday
- High integrity and excellent interpersonal and communication skills: Ability to build trust, strong relationships, quickly win and sustain credibility with both internal and key customer stakeholders is essential
- Strong business analytic skills to assess potential opportunities across the region
- Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple high priorities, identify resource needs, drive to completion, prepare reports, and evaluate results.
- Skilled in presenting and tailoring presentation to audience, engaging audience and adapting to last minute change
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Some travel may be required, including overnights.
