 BACKGROUND 
 The Pharmaceutical Services Branch (PSB) is responsible for the development and delivery of pharmaceutical policies, 
 programs and services for the New Brunswick Department of Health (DH). The branch works closely with multiple 
 internal and external stakeholders to set strategic direction and policies for publicly funded drug plans and initiatives, 
 and managing the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP). 
 New Brunswick is a member of the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA)  The pCPA is 
 an independent organization whose membership includes the provincial, territorial and federal governments. 
 Member jurisdictions collaborate on a range of public drug plan initiatives to increase and manage access to clinically 
 effective and affordable drug treatments. 
 pCPA conducts joint negotiations for brand name and generic drugs in Canada to achieve greater value for publicly 
 funded drug programs. For successfully negotiated agreements, rebate calculations must be performed and invoices 
 issued to drug manufacturers.

 process and the Branch’s data and reporting requirements using the drug claims database. 
 SERVICES SOUGHT 
 The Reporting and Analytics Analyst contributes to the PSB under the guidance of the Director, Drug Utilization and 
 Prescription Monitoring Program. This work includes, but is not limited to: 
 Extract drug data to support rebate calculations; 
 Perform rebate calculations as described in the negotiated agreements; 
 Support the tracking and documentation of rebates submitted; 
 Develop analytic and financial reports and reporting tools to ensure accountability and measure program 
 performance; 
 Analyze data to identify trends and patterns that can be used to make business decisions; 
 Conduct specific ad hoc requests for analysis (e.g., annual updates to analysis/indicators) and completes 
 exploration of data for indicator development; 
 Collaborate with team members to automate standard reporting and develop the reporting landscape; 
 Gather and translate business requirements from team members for building accurate reports and 
 dashboards that drive decision making; 
 Work with a variety of data sources, identify incomplete or inaccurate data, perform root cause analysis on 
 data issues, escalate discrepancies, fix data where possible and partners with various stakeholders to deliver 
 solutions; 
 Review the current rebate processes and provide recommendations to improve efficiency; 
 Develop and maintain Standard Operational Procedures, user documentation and procedures based on 
 contractual and operational requirements; 
 This will require working with team members and using various data analysis methods and tools. The Analyst may 
 also be required to support other initiatives within the PSB. 
 The individual will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement and complete DH’s Privacy Training prior to 
 commencing the assignment.
