Job description

Term of App't: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week

Start date: Immediately

Reporting to: Operations Manager, Academic & Vocational Programs

Salary/Benefits:

Classification 8, $25.97 - $26.77 per hour, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees are provided an additional $0.56 on regular earnings in lieu of benefits, and 6% vacation pay, for all regular hours worked.

Description:

This position will provide clerical support primarily for the Academic and Vocational programs with a focus on AHCOTE and Distance delivery related programs. Duties will include standard office tasks: filing, photocopying, setting up and arranging meetings, mail sorting, overseeing copier/fax equipment, invigilation of exams, and responding to student inquiries/requests for information. Must have the ability to support the department faculty in preparation for course delivery along with other related duties. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and effective teamwork skills are required in this position. Evening and weekend work may be required on a scheduled basis.

*** The term of this position is until November 30, 2024.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years of related experience and 1 year of post-secondary education with a certificate in office administration is preferred; however, an equivalent combination of experience and education may be accepted. Experience and proficiency with MS Office 365 is required. Excellent organizational, both written and verbal communication skills are essential. Must be able to work in a team environment, multi-task, and work independently. Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions. The selection process may include completion of a comprehensive clerical test.
