PROJECT COORDINATOR

Information Technology

9-month Term / 2 positions

The opportunity

As part of the IT project teams, you performs a comprehensive range of project coordination activities in support of IT Major Projects and is responsible for managing and coordinating multiple project tasks simultaneously. You are involved in planning and organizing the major project activities to help to ensure that projects are delivered on-time and on-budget. As well as providing regular reports on project and resource updates.

The Role

Reporting to the Director, IT Projects and Manager, PMO, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

• Assisting the Director, Managers and Project Managers with the planning and implementation of IT major projects and responding to day-to-day communications as required
• Preparing the development of business cases and benefits realization, which may include financial and resource allocations for the Director IT Major Projects
• Establishing and maintaining comprehensive document control procedures; tracking logs, project reports, status updates and update document repositories
• Coordinating project meetings and maintaining a high level of confidentiality
• Assisting in the procurement of services and materials for the relevant Project Managers
• Preparing the development of project schedules, updating and reporting progress of the projects on a regular basis for the Project Managers
• Coordinating the facilitated requirements workshops, design, review and team meetings and document and publish meeting minutes;
• Entering and processing purchase orders, change orders and facilitate invoice approvals
• Tracking change requests across all major projects
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date logs (Action/ Decision, Scope, Presentations and tables, etc.)
• Maintaining project document library, including coordinating project close-out documents
• Other project related duties and assignments may be assigned from time to time

What you bring to the team

You have IT project experience in Information Technology, and you are proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project. You have experience with projects, tracking program and project issues, risks and changes. Experience with project financials would be an asset. You have the demonstrated ability to drive toward results, and ensure high-quality standards and complete requirements are met.

You have a post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Business or an IT related discipline. Project Management training or certification would be considered an asset (PMP/CAPM).

Additional information

The target salary range: $55,700 - $69,600 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis.
