Position: Machine Learning Co-op/Intern
Duration: 4 months
Date: April 29th to August 30th, 2024
Location: Hybrid in Ottawa, Canada
The team you will be a part of As a Summer term 2024 co-op/intern in Cloud & Network Services (CNS) Advanced Technology & Incubation Group in Ottawa, you will choose a new advance in AI/ML relevant to CNS business areas and evaluate that technology, including coding a prototype. A paper on the technology evaluation, prototype, and recommendations should be written and presented, with a demo prototype.
Education Recommendations Currently a candidate for a bachelor's or master's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer and Information Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with an accredited school in Canada.
Responsibilities As part of the team, you will:
- With the guidance of an advanced technology leader, choose an advanced technology item for validation
- Study the use of chosen technology theoretically first
- Design and review plan for validating technology through prototype
- Implement/code prototype, demonstrate prototype
- Analyse and recommend uses of the technology, document outcome
Qualifications You have :
- Innovative and explorative mindset
- Good research and coding skills
- Willing to present and discuss your projects and technology in general.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience in cloud computing, ML systems, NLP
