Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Superintendent/Foreman

Hays Mechanical Contracting team has partnered with a growing company in Surrey, Vancouver. Our client is a full-service Mechanical Contractor that specializes in design and assisting mechanical systems. Our client has been involved in a diverse range of projects since 1993 including many concrete high rises, hotels, and industrial and commercial buildings. Quality is of the utmost importance for this company. Therefore, training is provided to create the excellent work they portray. Our client also developed the first zero-footprint building in Vancouver. This opportunity will be based onsite across the Lower Mainland.

Your new role

As the Mechanical Superintendent, your job purpose will be to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate projects from start to finish. Day-to-day field activities will vary on High-rise/Mixed-use Projects and the successful candidate will be required to supervise, coordinate, and schedule activities of Apprentices, Journeymen, and Junior Superintendents (10 personnel or more). Health and safety is paramount on site are this will be achieved by following safety standards, implementing safety training, running safety orientations, and reviewing company policies with your team. The Mechanical Superintendent will focus on project competition and financials by tracking productivity, project quality, materials, and supplies. Knowledge of AutoCAD is a requirement in this position.

What you’ll need to Succeed

To succeed as the Mechanical Superintendent, you will bring 5+ years as a Mechanical Superintendent or Foreman, be familiar with Mechanical Contracting and associated components, you will be detail-oriented, and someone who can work independently though who also works well in a team managing up to 10 personnel or more, the key is to be approachable and professional. Previous experience working on concrete high rises with a good understanding of heating systems and deck layout on AutoCAD is a must.
