Job Summary
The Chef Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting the culinary team focusing primarily on assisting the current chefs with food preparation and execution of dishes for various events. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of culinary experience preferably in highvolume or fine dining settings and exhibit a strong ability to work cooperatively under the guidance of the lead chefs.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead chefs with the preparation and cooking of dishes ensuring each is executed to perfection.
- Help with the setup and organization of the kitchen and cooking stations.
- Follow detailed instructions from the lead chefs to prepare ingredients including washing chopping marinating and so on.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner to meet event schedules.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by adhering to sanitation and safety standards.
- Assist with the receiving and storage of deliveries ensuring all ingredients are properly stored according to food safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a kitchen assistant or supportive chef role with a preference for those experienced in highvolume fine dining or banquet hall environments.
- Ability to work effectively under the guidance of lead chefs.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings weekends and holidays as required by event schedules.
