Position Overview:
The Information Technology Administrator is expected to have a solid background and knowledge in I.T. support. The Information Technology Administrator will work under the supervision of the Technology Manager and help them with all the tasks related to I.T. infrastructure and operations. The main duties of the Information Technology Administrator include planning, developing, and implementing I.T. systems, ensuring regular maintenance, security, and updates of the I.T. equipment and software.
This position is located at the Guelph office at 104 Cooper Drive, Guelph, ON. Ontario One Call has a hybrid work model with staff dividing their workweek between in-office and at-home work per company policy.
A successful candidate will also be required to travel to our satellite office in Sudbury, Ontario to maintain systems. Travel will be approximately two to three weeks per year.
Responsibilities:
- Administration of Windows Active Directory with Azure/Microsoft 365 integration
- Perform regular system health checks, patching and reporting for Windows servers and desktops.
- Research and perform firmware updates and software upgrades throughout the infrastructure to maintain security compliance.
- Conducting regular audits and tests to evaluate the effectiveness of the security measures including email campaigns.
- Providing training and guidance to other staff members on cyber security best practices
- Monitor daily server backups, disk space, and system performance of on-premises systems.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance and usability of Windows desktops, laptops, peripheral equipment, and software.
- Serves as a technical expert in system administration for a multi-office network infrastructure.
- Participate in important IT technical projects and infrastructure upgrades under the direction of IT Management to design, plan, install and support the corporate virtual server and storage environments as well as E-mail, Windows domain, Disaster recovery, firewall and security.
- Document technical processes/ procedures and maintain equipment inventories.
- Aid departments/business units to address efficiency improvements for processing daily information.
- Provide on-call support on a rotational basis.
- Mentors team members and educates users.

- Microsoft 365 Entra, Purview, Defender, SharePoint
- Hyper-V virtualization, Failover Clustering
- Windows 10 & 11, Server 2016-2022
- Remote Desktop Services - Remote Apps
- VoIP, Telecommunications, Contact Center Systems
- Desk-side hardware and software support experience
- SharePoint fundamentals
- A+, Network+, MCP Certification
- IT Asset Management
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant systems/network administration work experience in Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud environment or AWS.
- Microsoft Servers, Cloud, and Hybrid Certification an asset.
- Supervisory experience is considered an asset.
