Duties:
Under the direction of Dr. Lucyshyn-Wright, Dept. of Mathematics and Computer Science, duties include:
– independent and collaborative research in mathematics at Brandon University;
– writing reports and/or papers;
– writing notes to communicate research progress;
– attending in-person meetings at Brandon University;
– collaborative discussion and reporting of research progress in meetings;
– assigned reading and study in mathematics;
– other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:
– Completed course requirements for four-year Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, with excellent marks;
– Documented excellent performance in an abstract/modern algebra course with a mark at the A+ level;
– Evidence of strong aptitude in pure mathematics and of excellent performance in pure mathematics;
– Effective written and verbal communication;
– Evidence of effective independent written work in pure mathematics, such as formal survey papers or research papers;
– Evidence of effective written research work in pure mathematics, such as research papers;
– Research experience in category theory is an asset.
