Job description

Division: Saskatoon Fire Department: Operations and Communications Term: Multiple Permanent Full Time position available Closing Date: 03/17/2024 Labour Group: IAFF 80 Posting: 3072 Job Summary Under supervision of the Captain, this position works as a member of a team to respond to a variety of emergency situations Duties & Responsibilities 1. Mitigates emergencies involving fires
2. Responds to pre-hospital emergency medical incidents, dangerous goods incidents and emergency
rescues
3. Performs fire prevention and inspection duties within an assigned area
4. Maintains apparatus
5. Participates in the required training
6. Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications

NFPA 1001 Fire Fighting Practices Level I (IFSAC/Pro Board accredited)
NFPA 1001 Fire Fighting Practices Level II (IFSAC/Pro Board accredited)
NFPA 1002 Apparatus Driver / Operator (Pumper) (IFSAC/Pro Board accredited)
NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector Level I (IFSAC certified), preferred
NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor Level I (preferred) (IFSAC/Pro Board accredited)
NFPA 472 OR NFPA1072 Hazardous Materials (Operation Levels) (IFSAC/Pro Board accredited)
Requires Security Check Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) upon offer of employment Additional Requirements 10 and 14 hour shifts. Weekend and public holiday work are involved Weekly Hours: 42 Salary Range: $78,123.84 to $120,534.00 CAD per annum (2023 rates)
