Job description
Our client is looking for a civil project manager to join their team. The PM is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects within the civil engineering field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Project Planning: Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, considering factors such as scope, resources, and deadlines.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a project team, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.
- Budget Management: Monitor project expenses and resources, ensuring adherence to the budget while seeking cost-effective solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards by conducting inspections, quality checks, and adherence to safety regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the project remains on track.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure project goals are met.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project records, including contracts, permits, and progress reports.
- Problem Solving: Address unforeseen challenges, conflicts, and issues that may arise during the project, seeking solutions to keep it on course.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Project Closure: Coordinate project completion, including final inspections, client handover, and project documentation.
The civil project manager plays a crucial role in delivering successful civil engineering projects on time, within budget, and with high-quality standards.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
- 3-5 years of successful construction project management experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of successful project execution
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in teams
- Proficiency in mining and/or civil construction
- Advanced computer operating system proficiency
- Expertise in generating insightful project reports
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Industry-specific certificates and licenses may be required
- Familiarity with commercial vehicle inspection requirements
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proficient in technology and computer usage
- Possession of a Class 5 Driver's License
