JOB OVERVIEW  

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of a  Project Control Analyst

Reporting to the Manager, Business Planning and Development, this position is mainly responsible for the Business Planning & Development group in Advanced Inspection and Maintenance (AIM). AIM is a division with technical experts applying specialized inspection, maintenance and engineering knowledge and experience that others rely on to maximize the lifecycle performance of equipment and components. This includes project schedule and cost management. This position is within OPG’s Enterprise Project Organization and is an incredible opportunity to gain exposure to projects across different lines of business including Renewable Generation, Nuclear Refurbishment, IT Projects, New Nuclear and more!

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

• Support the administration of highly utilized Project Management Information Systems, including EcoSys and Primavera P6.
• Analyze specified areas of cost and schedule performance. 
• Lead Key Initiatives to provide continuous improvement to EPO Project Management knowledge areas within process, tools, and systems.
• Establish cost and schedule baselines and project monitoring and controlling, including Earned Value Management analysis, integrated Change control and Forecasting.

• As assigned, develop Division-specific procedures, instructions, guidelines that facilitate the two-way flow of cost and schedule information.
• Reviews actual costs, accruals and earned value to ensure accurate progress reporting.

• Produce required reports such as predictive reporting, statistical reports and progress reports.
• Resolve any coding issues in source systems to ensure accurate reporting.
• Provide input and direction to the Section Manager, with respect to the preparation and execution of deliverables. Preparing critical path schedules and dashboard reporting for work management during outages
• Providing support to refurbishment projects
• Providing support to various AIM departments
• Monitoring metrics and preparing month-end reports

EDUCATION

• 4-year university degree in Engineering, Science or Business
• Project Management Institute (PMI) or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) certification is considered an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 6 + years of experience collaborating within a work group and performing all aspects of project monitoring and controlling.
• Experience with EcoSys as a cost management solution.
• Experience with Primavera P6.
• Power BI experience would be a strong asset.
• Must have experience in cost control - understanding of earned value including CPI (cost performance indicator) and SPI (Scheduled Performance Indicator),
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary and multi-phase long term projects/programs.
• Must have experience in Microsoft Apps – Excel/ Word/PowerPoint/Outlook.
• Knowledge and solid understanding of the interrelationships and role of organizational units, interrelationships between work groups, external contractors and consultants involved, and the mechanics of resolving any controversial issues. 
• Experience with the application of work methods, resourcing of work, and logical sequencing of events and resolution of common problems in these areas. 
• Ability to collaborate and communicate well, both verbally and written, is essential.
• Ability to present information clearly and effectively.
• Comfortable working with / learning the application of various computer systems and software.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.
