Job Description: Physician Assistants (PAs) are academically and clinically educated medical generalists who practice medicine within a formalized relationship with a Physician. Regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), PAs collect and interpret medical information, make appropriate clinical decisions and carry out diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a formalized Physician/PA relationship agreement approved by the CPSS.
Required Qualifications
Certified with the Canadian Association of Physicians Assistants
Current ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification, is an asset
Current ATLS Certification (Advanced Trauma Life Support) Certification, is an asset
Current PALS Certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification, is an asset
Maintain membership in good standing on the SHA Practitioner Staff
Membership and Licensure in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) as a Physician Assistant
Successful Completion of a recognized accredited Physician Assistant educational Program Bachelor of Health Sciences (Physician Assistant)
Valid Driver's License
Experience
Clinical experience working as a PA in a related clinical field, is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to function both independently and as an active member of the multidisciplinary team in care for all patients
Ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy
Demonstrated written and spoken competence in English language
Demonstrates commitment to a diverse, culturally competent and culturally safe health system and representative workforce
