In this critical role, you will be responsible for owning the roadmap, execution and scaling across all essential credit card operations and functionality (payments, transactions, statements, credit reporting, collections, disputes) as well as our risk and fraud infrastructure.Your primary goal will be to ensure that products are delivered on time, under budget, and with successful deployment.
Role Responsibilities
- Set up card processing and card issuing across the assigned region.
- Integrate card processing systems into existing payment rails to enable seamless interfaces across channels.
- Engineer and develop card processing capabilities to fund transactions via cryptocurrency.
- Manage and engineer real-time payments solutions and expand new pay-in and pay-out channels.
- Ensure that the back-end development team follows standard SDLC and PLC procedures and processes.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to plan and schedule product releases.
- Proactively suggest areas for improvement and enhancement, working with managers and peers.
- Work with industry partners to integrate our systems with other applications or systems.
- Propose the most optimal technical solutions to drive industry "best-in-class" KPI results.
- Lead Agile development processes at scale and lead a regional team of Card back-end Engineers.
- Build and lead a talented team of card (back-end) engineers. Recruit, develop, and mentor world-class engineering talent.
- Be a culture champion on the team and across the company.
- Build daily, weekly, and monthly card processing, card issuing, and settlement solutions.
- Work with outsourcing vendors on resource budget and allocation.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and coordinate issue resolution with operations, functional, and technical teams.
- Integrate new technologies into the Digital Ecosystem.
Role Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing back-end engineering teams and building business critical customer servicing banking products and launching in market, along with a minimum of 3 years of managerial experience, although candidates with other relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong, proven leadership skills are required to manage both direct and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Ability to motivate and drive results in a large indirect sphere of influence and think outside the box.
- Excellent communication verbal and written skills enabling effective management and talent development, both for direct and indirect teams.
- Ability to communicate updates in a concise fashion to various levels of management.
- Ability to execute roadmap across the organization.
- Knowledge of the card space across Visa, Mastercard and other providers.
- Knowledge of pre-paid card business and how to issue cards to receivers with the ability to offer re-loadable cards.
- Knowledge and experience working software tools, platforms, and processes required to support development in and around MuleSoft, Platform Expert level Experience with SOAP/REST web service.
- Expert knowledge of databases and related tools and utilities (as applicable above); problem-solving skills and proven record of working well in a team environment.
- Have good architecture design and scalability problem solving experience.
- Experience working with card issuer processor platforms like Marqeta, Fiserv, Tsys and network schemes.
