The Senior Director of Product Engineering for Latin America will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational execution of the product engineering function for the Tax and Accounting Professional segment within the region. This role demands a combination of technical depth, business acumen, stakeholder management, and strong leadership to drive the development of high-quality products and solutions that resonate with the Latin American market.
About the Job:
Lead the product engineering function for Tax and Accounting Professionals within Latin America, ensuring strategic objectives are met while fostering a high-performance engineering culture.
Partner with stakeholders and peers to define and implement the product engineering strategy, focusing on innovation, quality, and speed to market.
Manage the entire product engineering development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards. Work closely with product management and the business to understand customer needs and translate them into robust engineering solutions.
Ensure that all products are developed to meet the specific requirements and nuances of the Latin American market while taking advantage of Thomson Reuters shared capabilities and adhering to TR standards.
Mentor and develop a diverse team of engineering managers and technical leads, promoting career growth and skill development.
Optimize engineering processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
Oversee the budgeting, planning, and resource allocation for the engineering department to ensure optimal use of resources.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, customer service, and legal to ensure cohesive product strategies.
About you:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in product engineering, with at least 5 years in a management role.
Strong written and verbal communication in English
Demonstrated experience in leading and growing engineering teams.
Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across a matrixed organization.
Strong technical background with experience in software development and understanding of current technology trends including cloud technologies.
Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Willingness to travel as required for the role.
Experience implementing agile methodologies across multiple teams.
