About the opportunity:

We are looking for a Lead for AI and Machine Learning, to work in partnership with one of the biggest retailers in US. You will develop a paved path AI/ML platform for Fanatics that facilitates the entire ML lifecycle, including experiment tracking, model training, deployment, and monitoring. 

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a reference AI/ML platform using Airflow for orchestration, MLflow for model registry and experiment tracking, and SageMaker for training, hyperparameter tuning, serving, and production monitoring;
• Develop an automated pipeline for model building, training, evaluation, and deployment using Sagemaker pipelines and MLflow integration;
• Setup an E2E pipeline using Fanatics dataset in S3 (eg: recommendation scores);
• Document the platform architecture, configuration, and development process;
• Set up a feature store with governance capabilities (eg: team based IAM roles, namespaces) using an appropriate solution;
• Implement functionalities for adding, removing, and changing features;
• Enable running experiments with different feature sets;
• Document the feature store architecture and usage guidelines;
• Provision dedicated AI/ML environments for development, testing, and production on AWS;
• Implement automation for publishing models, artifacts, and configurations across different environments;
• Integrate MLflow with Large Language Models (LLMs) for specific use cases;
• Develop and deploy LLM-based models within the platform;
• Document the LLM integration and deployment process;
• Implement tools for monitoring model performance in production (e.g., Evidently, Amazon SageMaker Model Monitor).
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for different models and applications;
• Fully functional AI/ML platform with documented architecture, configuration, and development process;
• Operational feature store with governance capabilities and usage guidelines;
• Provisioned and managed AI/ML environments for development, testing, and production;
• Knowledge transfer documentation and training sessions for internal teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in building and deploying AI/ML solutions;
• Proven experience with MLOps tools and frameworks (e.g., Airflow, MLflow, SageMaker);
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and orchestration tools;
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
