The role
Coty is seeking an exceptional individual to join the logistics team in Goiânia (GO) .
In this role the person will directly lead the logistics organization in Latin America, including transportation and a set of distribution centers across the region (owned and 3PLs). This is a very operational focused role to manage the business to meet all relevant supply chain KPIs. The Role will report directly to the Americas Logistics VP.
The position covers a broad range of business activities at functional, operational, and strategic level.
To work closely with the DC leaders and the central transportation team to operate the day-to-day business with excellence. Set the strategy, frameworks, guidelines and to provide expertise in DC and transport operations. This includes communication with authorities and internal stakeholders. Responsibility to identify and manage projects that deliver added value to the business in terms of financial, service, safety and sustainability.
Provide operational direction to the operational teams in all matters relating to warehousing services and transportation. Supporting the operational line management in the selection, contractual management and performance of externalized services including 3PL’s, outside storage providers, WMS, LMS and other appropriately identified activities.
The individual who fills this role will be expected to contribute to the logistics leadership and develop relationships with the teams on all aspects of the business activities. Key relationships in addition will be the Go-to-market teams in Latam, the planning community, the Center of experience (CoE), the regional and central transportation teams as well as the finance, procurement, manufacturing and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
Functional
- Support the operational teams across Latin America and Brazil implementing best practices and leverage consistency across the region. Work very closely with all DC’s and the central & regional transportations teams;
- Work with the CoE to develop productivity programs and leverage the network capabilities;
- Build a network across all DC and transportation function to leverage the knowledge and bundle the activities.
Operational
- Operational accountability on all key metrics such as service, quality, safety, productivity, inventory accuracy and sustainability;
- Be a close partner to the regional market supply and commercial leads;
- Maintain high levels of service and manage customer’s expectations whilst operating within budgetary conditions;
- Challenge existing practices to drive both service and cost efficiencies within the supply network;
- Manage and animate the relationship with the 3PL’s and 4PL’s in partnership with the logistics procurement team.
People Development
- Develop a network of talents across the various locations;
- Create and maintain development and succession plans for the logistics community;
- Create a vision for his/her scope and establish goals and objectives for the team;
- Build collaborative relationships with cross functional teams such as DC/3PL’s, customer service, global transportation and sales teams.
Strategic Projects
- Identify opportunities for improvements in supply spending that creates value in terms of financial, service, safety, and sustainability to Coty;
- Give direction and management of projects across the function;
- Monitor, track and report on the status of projects including the tracking of the committed results i.e. savings, service improvements etc.
Supplier Performance Management
- Lead performance management visibility and improvement plans for suppliers ensuring conformance with best practice and company standards consistently across all sites;
- Implement supplier relationship programs with key transport haulers including monthly KPI reviews and QBRs;
- Be a point of escalation for supplier performance issues in collaboration with procurement;
- Supplier Selection.
Cost management
- Partner with finance team on monthly budget review process and annual budget establishment;
- Identify cost savings projects, develop, and execute plans;
- Identify opportunities and implement tracking of key cost drivers such as cost per mile and logistics cost as %GS;
What you’ll bring
- 5-10 years of proven operational leadership in logistics, Supply chain , manufacturing;
- English is mandatory;
- Work in different cultural environment (Spanish speaker is a Plus);
- Successful Experience of a FMCG environment with commercial understanding of Distribution Center, transport and customs operations;
- Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to deal with senior leadership to convince and influence effectively, overcoming barriers;
- Contracts negotiation skills and ability to lead complex negotiations & manage contracts through their life cycle measuring & driving demanding service levels;
- Achievement of innovative results and proven track record of significant cost savings;
- Experience of implementing new systems (e.g. Warehouse Management Systems, Labor Management Systems, Warehouse Control Systems), processes (control tower) in a transversal environment;
- Experience of implementing automation and mechanization programs in a DC or industrial environment;
- Self-motivated leader and team player;
- Proficient financial analysis skills;
- IT literate with advanced excel skills;
- Ability to coach and develop individuals in difficult situations and develop competencies;
- Some travel is needed to connect with teams and service providers.
