Dow Research & Development (R&D) has an exciting opportunity for an IT Solution Specialist role in São Paolo, Brazil; Jundiai, Brazil; or Campinas, Brazil . The role is part of Information Research (IR), a hub of digital innovation for Dow R&D. IR provides information technology (IT) and data science capabilities & expertise to accelerate and support R&D innovation and enable Dow R&D’s digital transformation.
About you and this role – What you would do in this role:
As a Solution Specialist, you will be part of a global team to ensure Dow R&D laboratory informatics data systems (such as LIMS, SDMS, instrument data acquisition and integration, etc.) are successfully implemented and supported to advance research objectives. This is a technical role and will have a strong focus on Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Dow R&D uses ThermoFisher Scientific Nautilus LIMS.
Responsibilities:
Work as part of a project team responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting LIMS and other research laboratory informatics data systems in Dow R&D globally
Interact directly with researchers and lab technicians to understand, document, analyze, and map needs and lab workflows into technical designs and LIMS / lab informatics data solution functionalities.
Explain technical solutions from a scientist, researcher, and/or lab technician perspective; provide super-user or end-user training as needed
See to it that deployed R&D lab data solutions deliver value and are healthy from a technical and business R&D strategy alignment perspective; drive consistency, leverage solutions, and ensure rationalization & modernization.
Ensure a high level of client satisfaction by monitoring the delivery of ongoing lab informatics systems and services
Implement tools to proactively monitor, alert, and/or auto-recover from system issues. Provide end-user self-service support tools.
Work closely with other IR teams and IT service providers in a global team environment to resolve technical issues
Work with vendors/suppliers in troubleshooting issues with their software
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
3 years of relevant experience in supporting an enterprise IT data informatics application/system
Advanced English-level written communication skills
Your preferred Qualifications Include:
5 or more years of relevant experience
Experience with maintaining and supporting Nautilus LIMS or other LIMS systems
IT technical skills: system administration, server-based software installation and configuration, scripting/programming, developing data models and mapping workflows, writing database SQL queries, PowerBI
Advanced English-level written communication skills
