Job Description Qualifications:
Boeing Brazil Engineering is seeking a Mid-Career Design Engineer to join our team in São José dos Campos, Brazil office.
The engineer could work supporting the development and documentation of the ECS (Environmental Control System) and its sub-systems, such as pneumatic, air conditioning, ventilation, filtration, smoke control, pressurization, system controller, ice & rain protection, humidity, gas treatment & generation (OBIGGS), system software, system hardware, sensors. The ideal candidate will have a strong design and systems engineering background and be well versed in modeling 3D components.
Leads, trains and mentors’ other engineers. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable of how the business and organization operates.
- knowledgeable of policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the business and organization; understands the competition and the marketplace.
- Understands how to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understands the cultures of organizations. Applies this information in a way that contributes to the organizations strategic plan and bottom line.
- Works closely with Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) to provide engineering work related to Environmental Control Systems (ECS) of new developments and airplanes in service;
- Supports artifacts for new or revised designs aiming at showing compliance with Airworthiness and Operational Regulations;
- Liaising supplier development, test and production activities, aiming at optimizing integration and meet program goals.
- Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
- Design physical interfaces between systems (mechanical and/or electrical systems) and primary Structure with low assistance
- Perform drawing bill of material (BOM)
- Perform and validate physical installation of the System into airframe in accordance with interface software
- Perform drawing making use of standard parts
- Establish Mechanical and Electrical ICD list of ECS support points
- Define and route tubes on the aircraft
- Provide routings schematic and installation details for engineering reports
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems or Aerospace);
- Must be legally able to work in Brazil;
- Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia – CREA);
- Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language;
- Able to work collaboratively with multi-functional team;
- Work experience with CATIA tool (preferably V5), using modules as; part design, tubing, composites, sheet metal, surface design and assembly design
- Good understanding and interpretation of ICD (Interface Control Drawing)
- Knowledge in manufacturing hydromechanical parts and their brackets
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
- Knowledge of ARP 994 – Design of Tubing Installations for Aerospace Hydraulic Systems
- Experience in system architecture, requirement development of project with medium complexity
- Knowledge on tube routing and installations rules (redundancy, segregations, protections, band radius, attachment, marking)
- Experience with proof and burst tests and requirements
- Experience with tube joints
- Experience with fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, mass or heat transfer principles;
- Modeling and analysis work experience;
- System engineering work experience (desirably in HVAC, or ECS, or automotive cooling/heating systems);
- Good knowledge of some standard mechanical and electrical connectors
- Requirements configuration management tools (DOORS).
- Professional expertise in relevant fields of aircraft development and system installation/airframe design
