About the Opportunity:

As a Computer Security Specialist at FedTec you will be responsible for protecting the client organizations computer systems networks and data from security threats and breaches. You will work to implement security measures monitor systems and respond to incidents to safeguard digital assets.

Position: Computer Security System Specialist (Intermediate)

Work Location: Colorado Springs CO

Client: USSF

Security Clearance: Active US Government Secret

Certifications: Verifiable CompTIA Security certification (IAM Level II)

Primary Responsibilities

Security Implementation:

• Develop and implement security policies procedures and measures to protect computer systems and data.
• Configure and maintain security tools including firewalls intrusion detection systems and antivirus software.

Security Monitoring:

• Continuously monitor computer systems networks and applications for security vulnerabilities and threats.
• Analyze security logs and reports to identify and respond to suspicious activities.

Incident Response:

• Lead incident response efforts in the event of a security breach or incident.
• Investigate security incidents determine their scope and impact and develop mitigation strategies.

User Training and Awareness:

• Provide security awareness training to employees and promote a securityconscious culture within the organization.
• Educate users on best practices for safe computing and data protection.

Security Audits and Assessments:

• Conduct security assessments vulnerability scans and penetration tests to identify weaknesses in the organizations systems.
• Develop and implement remediation plans based on assessment findings.

Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

• Ensure compliance with industryspecific regulations and cybersecurity standards (e.g. NIST ISO 27001 DoD8140).
• Maintain documentation and records required for compliance.

Security Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of security policies procedures and incidents.
• Document security configurations and changes.

Basic Qualifications

• Strong understanding of security principles best practices and technologies.
• Knowledge of network security encryption firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
• Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to security.

Education/Experience:

• At least 5 years of proven Computer Security experience.
