Job description
For a leading provider of precision machining and metalworking solutions, we are hiring Lathe Operators for permanent on-site jobs in Germany/Austria/Europe. Willingness to relocate to Germany/Austria is required - we provide full visa sponsorship and relocation assistance.
Role & responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate Lathe Machines (e.g. CNC)
- Monitor and inspect parts for conformance to drawings and quality standards
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to produce parts
- Maintain a clean working environment in the machine shop area
- Attend department and company meetings
- Comply with the company’s business and human resources policies; work rules; safety, OSHA and MIOSHA requirements; quality standards; standard operating procedures; requirements and applicable local, State, and Federal regulations
- Perform other related duties as needed and assigned
Requirements
- formal education of at least 2 years or an academic degree in a related field
- at least 5 years of professional experience as a lathe operator
- knowledge of lathe operation, tool selection, workpiece setup, toolpath programming, speed and feed control, measuring instruments and blueprint reading
- Flexibility, independence and assertiveness
- Systematic, networked way of thinking
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Target-oriented work under pressure
- High level of commitment, good motivator and team player
- Very good command of English
- Prior knowledge of German is a plus, but not mandatory
- Willingness to learn German
