Head of IT Governance
This senior IT executive role is seen as one of the CIO's trusted partners in leading IT to become a business-oriented organization. The position reports to the CIO, responsible for managing the office of the CIO (OCIO), providing leadership for the cross-functional management of information and technology. It oversees functions such as IT strategy, governance, portfolio management, performance management, Business Transformation and the definition of IT ways of working (for example, agile, scrum processes, control towers, operating IT methodology).
The position focuses on ensuring that the IT organization "does the right things" through strategy and governance, as well as "doing things right" through organizational and operational model development and performance management. He is responsible for managing IT finance, IT key Indicators, workforce management, digital transformation strategy, enterprise architecture and quality management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partners with the CIO in providing technology vision and direction for the enterprise according to company objectives.
- Works with the CIO and business leadership team, providing broad insight to IT domains and capabilities in support of enterprisewide business decisions.
- Is responsible to facilitate driving focus and prioritization within the IT organization through establishing strategic planning and governance principles and processes including portfolio.
- Oversees the execution of high-impact, enterprisewide, strategic programs and digital transformation initiatives.
- Consolidate IT workforce strategy development and management, including the sourcing, training, and development of staff.
- Drives and facilitates effective collaboration to Business Relationship Managers and different business entities.
- Is responsible for directing the preparation, review and consolidation of business plans and budgets for the IT organization.
- Regularly review IT costs and cost structures for IT services and products so that the financial implications of IT projects and activities are communicated to the proper IT and business executives.
- Oversees the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, methodologies, and governance — as well as performance management frameworks and metrics — to ensure the IT organization delivers value to the enterprise.
- Drive IT Risk Management, follow-up and action plans according to compliance management processes.
Job Requirements
- Degree in business, engineering, IT or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Over 15 years of experience in IT and business / industry
- A minimum of five years of experience of team management and leadership responsibilities in IT
- Experience managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
- Strong leadership capability with proven track record of successful team development and working effectively with all organizational levels
- Expertise in budget planning, financial management and project management methodologies such as Scrum / Agile.
- Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs, including the ability to differentiate between a relevant trend and hype
- Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across the IT organization
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others
- Ability to effectively drive business, culture, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment
