Roles and Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO (requisition) process while interfacing with the commercial team. Possesses a deep understanding of relevant markets and customer economic value that aid winning bid strategies. To include 'ITO': Technical analysis of client need: definition and optimization of the products; scope (description); schedule; industrial scheme; cost, considering contract and internal policies and procedures. Calculation of plant, system and equipment performance and efficiency. Documentation of technical specifications & costing elements for further contract execution phases. This also includes OTR part where engineers work on customizing the products and implementing it for specific customer needs
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
- Analyze technical customer specifications and technical documentation of equipment;
- Define the solution to be adopted for projects in the high voltage equipment Service area, especially GIS (gas insulated substation);
- Support in the planning of technical activities related to the development of the project;
- Prepare purchase technical specifications;
- Follow Quality procedures and work instructions, report or resolve non-conformities and processes, as well as ensure that the team is engaged with the GE quality policy;
- Collaborate with the safety and environmental management system by analyzing and evaluating how the processes in your area can contribute to development of the organization.
- Comply with all safety and environmental procedures, carrying out all activities in a safe manner, using all PPE determined for your work activity, disposing of waste correctly and avoiding waste of water and electricity.
- Issue lists of project documents and control project documentation;
- Attend customers meetings to discuss technical aspects of the project in order to obtain approval of the engineering documents;
- Assume technical responsibility for projects with CREA when assigned;
- Issue purchase specifications (EDCs);
- Participate in acceptance tests with the customer when required;
- Participate in technical field visits, during the identification, execution, commissioning and assisted operation phases;
- Prepare and provide system operation, installation and maintenance training;
- Provide technical support in preparing proposals;
- Provide after-sales support for systems installed at customers;
Required Qualifications
- This role requires experience in the Engineering/Technology & Customer Application Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering) with the valid CREA registration.
- High voltage equipment experience
- GIS (Gas Insulated Substation) experience desired
