The Equity Analyst will be part of the Equity Unit, reporting directly to the Equity Manager-Latin America. This unit is responsible for developing and managing an impactful equity portfolio. The team focuses on building, monitoring and managing the equity investment portfolio, taking into account the risk and tiple bottom line impact (social performance, financial and environment) goals of Oikocredit. To achieve this, the team collaborates closely with Finance and Risk, Social Performance, Innovation, Integrated Investments Analysis and Legal Units.
The Equity Analyst is responsible for providing support to Equity Officers in the assigned region in identifying, screening, researching, assessing, negotiating, structuring, recommending and closing investment opportunities, as well as managing, monitoring and reporting on investments.
Key responsibilities
- Supports the region’s equity officers by performing general assessment and financial analysis of potential investees, by supporting in due diligence processes, including trips to potential investees.
- Supports in market analysis research and identification of prospects or pipeline development.
- Monitors and manages portfolio holdings by providing analytical support for portfolio holding investments and investment opportunities, by implementing and managing regular reporting formats and procedures .
- Reviews, analyses and summarizes on a monthly basis reports prepared by Investees and prepares investee review reports on a quarterly basis or when needed by the Equity Investment Officer.
- Completes AML- CDD packages of prospective and approved investments.
- Assists in the management of social performance issues as appropriate and supports value creation of portfolio holdings for possible exit with solid social and financial returns.
- Oversees the administration and management of Oikocredit’s fund of funds portfolio (9 funds).
- Promotes the long-term success of Oikocredit’s equity endeavours and collaborates with internal and external colleagues to maximize impact and promote Oikocredit’s reputation in the industry.

Essential
- Degree in the field of finance, accounting, or economics
- Master degree will be considered as a plus
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in corporate, finance or banking
- Excellent written and verbal command of English, Spanish and Portuguese
- Computer literacy
- Regional professional experience
- Ability to work independently and with a great sense of responsibility
Desirable
- Field experience in Latin American Countries
- Finance or business administration degree
