The team you will be a part of
Whirlpool Corporation is seeking an IT Technical Architect for SAP. She/he will be a key leader driving value across processes from Product Design to Manufacturing, Selling and Customer service. This Architect is the owner of the architecture and solution design for SAP linked to Product Engineering and the downstream functions, the related interfaces and integrating design and engineering data within the “product/appliance” line and is accountable for defining the IT strategy around systems, standards, applications and data. The role ensures that the product line is maintained with a consistent solution design across the globe, ensuring fit-for-purpose capabilities, scalability and reliability, and high replicability across regions, markets, and functions. You will be part of a global digital product & engineering team.
This role in summary
In this position you will help to drive Whirlpool’s Product (appliances) Leadership in the industry. You will provide leadership in the following areas:
- Architect State of the Art Global SAP Solutions that can be deployed in multiple regions
- Own the architecture linked to integration of Engineering data downstream to the various SAP systems
- Drive consistent SAP data (master + operational) retrieval into the global data lakes
- Understanding the different SAP’s and having good knowledge about the various nuances in the different regional SAP systems.
- Be fully in sync with the regional SAP Competence group, specially those focussing on Manufacturing and Service.
- Design Mash-up data from the different SAP’s + global Engineering systems to provide proper insight
- Drive reuse and automation of GPO artifacts in Manufacturing + Service to drive business value and agility.
- Drive upstream visibility of downstream transactional data for better design and impact analysis
- Drive downstream manufacturing Quality process including Quality Inspection, End of Line, Quality Hold and various SPC processes
- Constantly improve the current Interface model and design/modernize interfaces where required
- Drive with Mash-Up, Datalakes and other integration
- Bring industry (outside-in) perspectives and thought leadership into your work, execute best practices and develop and improve on business processes
- Identify, recommend, and promote emerging technology trends that can improve product and business outcomes
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering
- Experience in software development and testing using SAP Abap
- Sólid experience in Customizing SAP (pref. PP Module)
- Proven knowledge on product costing within SAP
- Proven knowledge in SAP SD
- 1+ years in data lakes (BW, redshift and/or GCP)
- 1+ years in relationship management with business areas
Preferred skills and experiences
- Certified in: SAP PP, MM, QM
- 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment including proper knowledge of :
- Costing mechanism
- Workcenters and Routing
- Assembly Line Management
- 3+ years developing conceptual architecture diagrams, cloud architecture, and overall system architecture diagrams using tools like Visio or Lucidchart.
- Exposed to other technologies like MII, Ignition and or Thinkworx.
- 3+ years translating business processes and changes to those processes into IT requirements.
- 3+ years designing and architecting large-scale distributed systems
- 2+ years designing and architecting interface services (Web-services, File transfers and batch scheduling).
- 3+ years authoring solution designs and architecting applications
- 2+ years designing applications using SAP Process Orchestrator or similar tools
- Exceptional communication skills across multiple levels and areas of expertise, including senior leadership and both technical and non-technical audiences
- Passionate about learning new technologies and creating innovative solutions
- Experience working independently as well as part of a team
- Experienced in leading new architecture designs to deliver better technical solution
- Ability to influence / convince others which are outside your direct control.
- Good understanding of change management processes and how to work within them
- Ability to identify and raise questions and concerns including, but not limited to, Privacy, Security, and Legal Concerns
