The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will serve as a key member of our executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. The CTO will be responsible for leading our Engineering team and partnering closely with the Chief Product Officer to shape and execute our product strategy and roadmap. The ideal candidate is a dynamic technology leader with a proven track record of innovation and delivery in a cloud native organization.

What You'll Do

1. Technology Strategy and Leadership:

Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and communicate the company's technology vision and strategy.

Lead the Engineering function, including software development, architecture, cloud and IT operations, and business systems.

Drive innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies to maintain our competitive edge.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the Engineering team.

Partner closely with the CPO to translate the product strategy into actionable technical plans and initiatives and deliver on these through best agile practices .

Ensure the alignment of technology initiatives with business objectives.

Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality, scalable, and innovative products and solutions.

Lead cross-functional teams to deliver on the product roadmap.

3. Technical Excellence:

Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to guide technology decisions.

Champion best practices in software development, security, and data management.

Drive the adoption of agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.

Maintain a focus on scalability, reliability, and user experience in all technical solutions.

3. Collaboration with Marketing and Sales:

Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Chief Sales Officer (CSO) to understand market trends and customer needs, ensuring that technology solutions align with customer expectations.

4. Talent Management:

Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent.

Build and maintain a high-performance, collaborative Engineering team.

Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback.

Create a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

5. Budget Management:

Manage the Engineering budget, including resource allocation and cost control.

Ensure cost-effectiveness in technology investments and procurement.

Report on key financial metrics and forecasts to the executive team.

Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer for CAR Group and counterparts in other businesses within CAR Group to align technology strategies and foster cross-functional innovation, product utilization and knowledge sharing.

Participate, and at times lead and facilitate, regular meetings, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions with technology leaders across the global team to promote synergy and collaboration, ensuring that technology initiatives support the overall business goals of CAR Group.

Drive the development and implementation of standardized technology processes, best practices, and governance frameworks that can be adopted across the Car Group's various businesses, promoting efficiency and consistency in technology operations.

Act as a liaison between the technology teams of different CAR Group businesses, advocating for the sharing of resources, expertise, and technologies to maximize cost-effectiveness and accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions for the group as a whole.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (MBA a plus).

Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or a similar leadership role.

Strong technical expertise and a track record of successful technology leadership.

Experience in [specific technologies or domains relevant to your industry].

Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Passion for innovation and staying at the forefront of technology trends.
