Our Logistics Information Services (LIS) seeks one talented, highly motivated IT professional to fill a critical role as a Database Administrator for the Caterpillar Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD). This role serves as a strategic partner to our Caterpillar Integrated Logistics Division. As a Database Administrator, you will work on a global team comprised of data architects, DBAs, and data scientists and business partners based in the United States and global team members in India, Brazil and Europe. As a member of our Integrated Logistics IT team, you will serve as a trusted IT resource for architects, functional experts, developers and project managers to develop and drive the database and data roadmap. You will have an important role ensuring ongoing support and project activities result in high performing and highly available data systems.

You will work with data architects to identify opportunities to promote leading industry practices and adopt new technology to deliver on the database, data warehouse and data analytics roadmap.

Primary job duties include, but are not limited to:

This position works as part of a global IT team providing support and development of applications in Salesforce. The selected candidate will work closely with business partners, architects and project managers to develop and support out of the box and custom functionality in Salesforce. The applications support Cat dealers, suppliers and internal process partners covering the following areas: Procurement, Aftermarket Parts Orders, Customer Relationship Management, Sales and Operations Planning, Transportation and Prime Product Visibility and Customer Service projects.

Responsibilities include working on support and project delivery teams to leverage agile development processes to document user stories in Azure DevOps and deliver enhancements in sprints while collaborating with project managers. The position also requires participation in project go lives, user set up, user documentation, hypercare support, etc.

What You Have - Skills and Experiences:

• Bachelor's degree in IT related field
• Advanced English
• Salesforce Administration experience
• Proficient with O365 (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
• Experience in Agile Software Development Methodologies and Azure DevOps.
• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information. Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution. Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.
• Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design). Tracks problems associated with the quality and effectiveness of application software. Provides instant support for end users of application software. Implements a specific application software under the supervision of management.
• Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project. Follows policies, practices and standards for determining functional and informational requirements. Confirms deliverables associated with requirements analysis. Communicates with customers and users to elicit and gather client requirements. Participates in the preparation of detailed documentation and requirements.
• System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle. Supports the project leader in developing and executing system test plans. Evaluates system documentation and user manuals for usability, accuracy and completeness. Executes test cases, analyzes test results and reports on findings regularly. Tests system components for compliance with functional requirements. Participates in the testing of a system's ability to recover from hardware or software failures.

Top Candidates Will Have

• Extensive Salesforce Administration experience, preferably certification
• Experience of Salesforce Lightning and/or Salesforce Development is desirable
• Excellent time management skills & ability to multitask
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Self-driven, motivated to continually improve processes and applications
• Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design. Works with specific development platforms, system and program design tools. Participates in the technical design of a specific application. Defines tasks, activities, deliverables and key concerns of technical design. Assists in reviewing and documenting technical application designs.
