What you ll do:
- Lead and manage a team of data scientists, providing guidance, technical leadership, mentorship, and support to drive professional growth and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data science projects related to portfolio optimization, recommendations, personalization, promos, segmentation, imputation, and insights discovery by setting clear objectives, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring timely and successful project completion.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, product managers, and engineers, to understand project requirements and deliver impactful solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Lead development and execution of comprehensive data science roadmap that supports business goals and strategies.
- Lead development & implementation of new emerging analytics technologies and identifies technology-based business opportunities.
- Stay close to industry releases and academic research and externally advances analytics brand via open-source contributions, conferences etc.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
- Serve as technical expert, providing guidance on advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques.
What you ll need:
- PhD in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, engineering, or other quantitative fields.
- Deep experience in data science, with a focus on machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis in the CPG industry.
- Strong technical skills in programming languages such as Python/PySpark, and expertise in data manipulation, visualization, and analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms, frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and data science tools.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms like Azure/AWS, and scaling platforms like Databricks/Spark is required. Knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitHub is required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Strong agile and growth mindset is required.
- Proven experience in end-to-end machine learning and data science timely project delivery, including problem formulation, data preprocessing, modeling, evaluation, and deployment.
- Strong understanding of the CPG industry, including familiarity with portfolio optimization, recommendations, personalization, promos, segmentation, imputation, and insights discovery.
