Programming or operating multi-domain optimization tools to assist feasibility analysis and concept ponderation (tradespace analysis) in the context of systems engineering;
Maintain a federation of models in Gitlab or similar repository managers;
Actively participate in the interface between scientists and beamline support groups, covering topics such as scientific computing, data science, beamline optics, and modelling of mechatronic systems applied to instrumentation design aimed at high-performance in-situ or in-operando experiments.
Higher Education in Mathematics, Applied Physics, Physics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science;
Basic knowledge of mathematical optimization methods (gradient, Newton) and basic linear programming algorithms (i.e. simplex);
Desirable experience/affinity with programming languages and scientific packages such as Python, C, R, Julia, Matlab or similar, as well as related optimization packages.
Knowledge of artificial intelligence methods and algorithms for optimization (neural networks, fuzzy logic, or evolutionary computing);
Experience in mathematical optimization or related topics (postgraduate studies or scientific initiation will be considered);
Knowledge of repository managers and version control;
Affinity and/or knowledge in systems engineering concepts.
