What you will do
The Sr Category Buyer - Procurement Chemicals (LATAM) is responsible for strategic sourcing management of chemicals ingredients in Latin America. In addition to the core procurement knowledge the Manager will also be expected to demonstrate key skills of:
· Understanding the complete value chain from Origin / base feedstock (Oil / Mineral / Agricultural / Synthetic) to consumer and the position of the category within this value chain
· Strategy Development through effective Business Needs Understanding, Economic, Financial, Industry, Competitor and Supplier Analysis.
· Strategy Implementation through the effective execution of Competitive Bidding events, Strategic Negotiations, Supplier Relationship Management and Legal Contracting.
· Managing relationship with internal business partners, cross-functions and (where appropriate) external.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
· Accountable for defining and leading supplier relationship to best implement sourcing strategies
· Accountable for the identification, implementation and tracking of Continuous Improvement initiatives at selected Suppliers
· Accountable for crisis resolution through early escalation and deployment of internal resources
· Negotiate appropriate supply terms and agreements for Raw Materials that best meet the needs and risks posed to Kenvue
· Manage contracts status to ensure appropriate legal coverage is maintained across the portfolio
· Ensure Supplier compliance towards all requirements (Financial Sarbanes-Oxley, Health & Safety, Environment, Quality and etc)
· Become an expert and reference in the technology and supply areas by developing in-depth knowledge about the industry (capabilities, strengths, weaknesses)
· Develop, align with the business and implement sourcing strategies for the specific technology area
Cost and Complexity Reduction
· Lead efforts to identify and implement current and pipeline cost and complexity reduction opportunities
· Support and develop the financial Business Plan of the company with accuracy on prices, cost improvement projects and inflation management
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree completed (Pharmacy, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or related areas / Post-graduated degree is a plus)
· More than 7 years’ experience in supply chain area, and demonstrated ability in Procurement Strategic Sourcing function
· Fluent in English (High usage of the language in daily activities)
· Spanish Advanced (Supports LATAM Region)
· Analytical Decision-Making skills, capacity to communicate information in a detailed and sharp way and influence business partners
Desired Qualifications
· Solid understanding of the chemical industry is a plus
· Experience of working with chemical ingredients is desirable plus
· Ability to work successfully with internal and external business partners
· Partnership, collaboration and teamwork skills
· High integrity and ethical behavior
· Knowledge of general manufacturing principles and practices
