Wood is currently recruiting for a Training Supervisor with a strong understanding of operations training requirements to be based in Basra, Iraq on a 28 Days on / 28 Days Off Rotation
Responsibilities
- Create ownership, stewardship, and commitment to Client Training, plans, and priorities consistent with the needs of Client field operations to develop a competent field workforce in line client requirements.
- Identify and implement training programs consistent with EM & global best practice.
- Serve as coach and mentor to Client counterparts.
- Liaise with Client, 3rd party training provider, Global training initiatives and various specialist vendor training providers.
- Develop capacity of the field leadership to coach, mentor and develop employee competencies.
- Coordinate procedure development and provide guidance on required procedural standards.
- Develop training schedules & training material.
- Interface and coordinate training activities with Client, company, and other personnel to effectively achieve 90-day training plan and IDP objectives.
- Track and report on training events completed.
- Submit employee training records to LMS Section / Lead
- Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Client Department Training coordinators, Client Security Compliance & Security Contacts and Client Logistics coordinators.
- Manage and maintain in-house training equipment, stationery, PPE.
- Operate, maintain, repair / fix training facilities instructional and presentation equipment.
- Track and report on field security pass and immigration issues and renewal.
- Submit applications for new and renewal of field security passes.
- Coordinate immigration requirements and PSD team movements without disruption to 90-day training plan.
- Track and report on team attendance.
- Responsible for overall logistics execution including ensuring people and materials are available and dispatched to and from the training locations as required.
Qualifications
Education : University Degree: Any discipline & Accredited Assessor license
Technical Skills Required
- Technical competence / experience dealing with upstream and major project training and competency assessment activities.
- Experience with logistics and administration of training facilities, able to manage documentation and record keeping.
- Experience with managing training schedules and training venues, including maintaining consumables for craft skills workshops.
- Experience with journey management.
- Experience with security access procedures and administration.
- Competent computer skills; presentation, spreadsheets, document preparation
- Competent / experienced with Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements for Oil & Gas industry.
Personal Skills
- A minimum of 10 years in a similar role with 5 years’ experience OJT / Classroom Training
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Upstream and Downstream businesses
- Preferably holds an accredited Assessor Qualification
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work in multi-culture and multi-company environments.
- Bi-Lingual (English / Arabic) ability preferred but not essential.
- Experience as a senior line supervisor of technical or operating organization
- Expert in operations processes and systems
- Strong understanding of operations training requirements
- Proactive in approach to program execution
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork, able to work with multi-national team.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work independently and in a multi-culture and multi-company environments.
