The Role
Reporting to the Technical Sales Director, based in Rio de Janeiro, candidate will be responsible for all technical aspects of the production opportunities, as well as helping to ensure customer satisfaction. Candidate will be an essential part of the sales organization at Aspentech Subsurface Science and Engineering and a key player in the development of the pre-sales activities of Production Analysis including flow assurance and optimization.
Production Technologists unique areas of expertise cover modelling and optimizing well inflow and outflow performance, conceptual well and completion design, design of well/reservoir interface (including sand management), Well, Reservoir and Facility Management (including production system modelling and optimization) and Well Integrity Management (including specification of the operating envelope for the well). The domain of the Production Technologist is from the sandface to the surface choke. Production Technologists are the production impact specialist - they should understand how to optimize production from their existing wells and the impact of completion/well intervention decisions on production performance over the life of the well.
Your Impact
- Support in the subsurface to surface integration strategy of at Aspentech Subsurface Science and Engineering. A good understanding in the overall reservoir and production management workflow for upstream oil and gas
- Advanced support for production modeling and optimization. Knowledge in multiphase flow simulation to optimize production and ensure the optimal design and operation of wells and surface networks.
- Support in developing completion designs for a range of platform and subsea wells to achieve Life of Field production objectives.
- Support for the integrated flow assurance tasks, production optimization and transient analysis. Integrate dataroom databases, connect to proxy reservoir models as well as reservoir simulators to model flow behavior from the reservoir to the surface.
- Troubleshooting of completion problems and identification / design of remedial actions.
- Identify new technology and potential applications and drive implementation.
- Build and maintain industry wide networks to enhance knowledge.
- Search, uncover, understand and analyze client/prospect needs and requirements to grow or penetrate accounts.
- Conduct technical Presentations and advanced training
- Co-develop Sales Proposals together with the sales team
- Prepare and present tailored product demonstrations
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend proof of concept/evaluation opportunities
- Develop relationship with users through personal contact and user group meetings
- Prepare and provide input for technical sessions
- Communicate with product managers and developers on issues identified from field observations and customer feed back
What You'll Need
- Background from working with upstream oil and gas production
- Excellent technical communication skills both in English and Spanish
- The ideal candidate will be conversant with industry standard for integrated flow assurance tasks (reservoir modeling and multiphase flow simulation)
- Experience in virtual metering, flow performance, transient flow and integrated field modeling
- Strong numerical models and analytical problem solving
- Flexible - must be able to travel
- Holder of a Bs degree in Petroleum, Process or Production Engineering, Ms plus with at least 10 years’ experience in a similar capacity
