Data Science Tech Lead

Activities
- Work in concert with Software Engineering Leaders to oversee all tactical aspects of the product lifecycle, including test planning & execution, issue management & escalations;
- Research technologies, methodologies, and approaches to find innovative solutions to solve the business problems of our clients;
- Research, prototype and develop solutions for complex and demanding supply chain problems;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for research discovery;
- Gather and process large and complex data sets;
- Apply advanced analytical methods using statistics, machine learning, optimization, and simulation knowledge;
- Program the theoretical approaches into practical prototypes;
- Build the pipelines that can easily be fed into technical design;
- Communicate ideas and findings with effective presentations to stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information;
- Mentor more-junior team members to improve their technical and problem-solving skills;
- Provide effective, empathetic feedback to pull requests and in code reviews;
- Write and update helpful and accessible architecture and technical developer documentation;
- Analyze client issues in conjunction with customer support and other teams.
Essential Skills
- Production experience in cloud-based AI or ML systems particularly in developing and deploying machine learning models;
- Experience performing pull request and code reviews and providing effective, helpful feedback to team members;
- Hands-on experience with Data science, Machine Learning and Statistical systems and Python packages such as pandas, scipy, scikit-learn, pytorch, dask, pyarrow, ray.
Highly Desirable Skills
- Experience writing unit tests as part of development cycle and using code coverage tools;
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes;
- Familiarity with database, performance, profiling, and tuning tools;
- Experience with bug and feature tracking and source control systems; Jira, Confluence, and Git.
