Job description
Caminhos Language Centre in Ipanema is looking for a vibrant and enthusiastic Receptionist to manage a variety of tasks.
We are a Portuguese Language school in the dynamic location of Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, teaching Portuguese to foreigners (we only have Brazilian-accredited teachers). We deal with clients from all over the world. Some are travellers and some are business clients relocating to Rio to work and all need to learn Portuguese.
Our school also has a huge social impact and we have a social project helping Brazilian kids in need.
The position available requires 44 hours of work per week.
General Requirements:
Advanced level of spoken and written English.
Friendly disposition and able to greet and welcome students
Ability to work with an administration system and do receptionist duties (multitask)
Brazilian / permanent resident with proficiency in Portuguese and carteira de trabalho
Flexible, team player
Familiar with Office package and Google tools
Available to start immediately (training provided)
Work related requirements:
Welcome students and explain our courses
Assist students or future students with different enquiries, questions and all sorts of requests or complaints related to their courses and stay.
Assist students in organising their accommodation and their courses
Respond to emails, whatsapp messages and phone calls (most of them are in English)
Organise school calendar and the teacher´s timetables
Administrate reservations of future and current students
Liaise with Teacher team and Management team and assist them with any required tasks, mainly of financial and commercial nature
Assist selling activities at reception and help sell the tours we offer
Help with Student Evaluations
Chase outstanding payments from students
Make sure our caixa (money in and out) is always balanced
Banking payments.
Assist with coffee preparation at reception (when needed)
Assist to maintain a tidy workplace
Control who enters and leaves the building.

- Escolaridade Mínima: Ensino Médio (2º Grau)
- Inglês (Avançado)
