What's the opportunity?
As a Governance Risk Lead at dLocal , this pivotal role focuses on enhancing risk management, compliance, and governance practices on a global scale. As the Risk Governance Lead, you will review the global Risk Taxonomy, approve new versions of the Global ERMF and RAS, conduct regulatory risk requirements gap analysis, define risk system standards, structure global and regional committees, oversee risk training, monitor risk projects, and promote global and regional integration.

- Conduct a comprehensive review of the global Risk Taxonomy to ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Design new versions of the Global Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) to enhance risk management practices.
- Contribute to the development of risk policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Perform a gap analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory risk requirements across all regions where dLocal operates.
- Define and implement risk system standards to ensure consistency and efficiency in risk data management and reporting.
- Establish and maintain a robust global and regional risk committee structure, fostering effective risk governance and communication.
- Develop and implement risk training programs to enhance the risk management skills and knowledge of employees at all levels.
- Oversee and monitor risk-related projects, ensuring that they are executed in accordance with established standards and within defined timelines.
- Promote global and regional integration efforts to harmonize risk management practices and standards across different geographical locations.
- Report regularly to the Board of Directors and Risk Committee, providing insights into the risk landscape and potential areas of concern.
- Communicate complex risk information in a clear and concise manner to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the internal audit team to support risk-related audit activities.
- Provide insights and guidance on emerging risks and industry trends.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance risk management capabilities.
What skills do you need?- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master's, FRM or CFA is a plus).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Risk Management (as second line of defense)
- Extensive experience in risk management and governance, preferably in the fintech, payment or banking industry.
- Thorough knowledge of global regulatory requirements and standards.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to drive change and innovation in risk governance.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including Basel III and local financial regulations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiar with big data tools and databases (e.g., Python, SQL and Spark) and also experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Power B, Tableau and Quicksight).
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
