Position Summary:
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the successful execution of multiple/large projects or programs with high complexity in accordance with the company procedures. The incumbent in this role will work with internal teams, and external keys customers and suppliers, responsible for complex decisions and practical/objective actions , to ensure outcomes are in line with customer contract requirements and the company project governance process. Dedicated to multiple customers and support others where required as the primary point of contact for all aspects of the operation.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivery of identified scopes of work from the handover from the sales team to the remittance of the invoice, and will ensure that a project is completed on time, on quality, as per contract and within budget, that the project's objectives are met and that all contributors to the project are doing their job properly and as planned. Work closely with senior management in the execution of projects as allocated and manage day to day operational aspects of the projects and scope, including team establishment and development .
You will also identify new customer’s needs to drive solution & services upsells and manage long-term customer relationship beyond project management. As well, participate in the development and implementation of internal business process initiatives and improvements.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Senior Project Manager responsible for overall project management;
Manage entire projects from contract award/handover to completion with the company governance process;
Primary customer contact for the duration of each project;
Understand the client’s outcome requirements and manage their expectations and any variations to our original scope. Manage any external communications between the project team and outside customers;
Plan and lead the execution of delivered customer projects using appropriate company standard project management tools;
Manage the project according to best practices of the Project Management knowledge areas as risk analysis, quality, project human resources, costs, scope, time, integration, engineering, supplies, critical path analysis of project, engineering, claim management, crisis management and negotiations;
Manage and monitor the schedule, quality, budget baseline and scope elements of allocated projects;
Monitoring, reporting, and controlling project costs and schedule through all phases of the project;
Managing for every phase the project to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations;
Track and report on project costs, profit margins and project percentage of completion throughout the life cycle of assigned projects;
Analyse project profitability to ensure it is in line with the budgeted gross margin and enact recovery plans when deviations occur;
Ensure the results of the projects under your responsibility;
Relationship and management of the areas involved in the project to ensure on-time delivery - Engineering, Planning, Contract Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, among others;
Establishing and conducting project management/ review meetings;
Ensuring that delivered services achieve highest quality and performance levels;
Conduct team management meetings, assessment of risks and opportunities, physical and financial progress, claims negotiations, analysis, monitoring and management of projects and teams KPIs;
Identify and mitigate risks and implement improvements in project performance;
Monitoring and reporting to Directors the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost, schedule, quality and EHS;
Manage scope creep and change orders as and when required to ensure client requests for changes are formalized and that projects meet their required gross margin, looking always for opportunities of costs and delivery time improvement;
Prepare project claims for variations including scope changes, material or equipment switches, extensions to time, increase in resources and project accelerations;
Contribute to resolving contract differences or disputes;
Problem-solving skills to sort out complex problems, focus to solve problems and think of unique and creative ways to resolve issues in compliance with the company governance process;
Set project specific targets, clearly communicate to the teams at the various stages and levels of the company and have the ability to motivate teams to comply with those targets effectively;
Managing the interfaces with the stakeholders and within the project team;
Solid communication and influence for discussions with project stakeholders;
Partake with internal and external audit as required;
Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately in accordance with the Quality Management System.
Manage the client invoicing and payment schedule to ensure collections are in line with the contract;
Evaluate the lessons-learned during the execution of projects, document, communicate to relevant areas and apply the lessons-learned to future projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree,preferably in an engineering or business administration discipline.
10+ years of relevant experience working in the management of complex and large-scale projects involving product development, implementation, and installations.
Portuguese and English language skills are mandatory; the ability to speak Spanish would be beneficial.
Use of MS Office tools (Excel - advanced, Word, Power Point).
Experience of Microsoft Project and/or Oracle Primavera is required.
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP by PMI), IPMA International Project Management Association certification or equivalent, it is a plus.
