Job description
The Assistant Controller of Brazil reports to the South America Finance Director and is responsible for managing the shared financial and administrative team of Brazil, performing the reporting, following up business KPIs and overseeing accounting, treasury, payroll & benefits, tax, as well as facilities and administrative functions. He/She will lead the the Finance Shared Services team and work closely with the Finance Director of South America aiming to align the finance function in the region, assuring the best practices and controls are implemented.
Main activities are:
- Responsible for overseeing the preparation of all financial statements and doing the management report in company’s tool, including income statements, balance sheets, management reports and tax returns/obligations
- Manages monthly close process including account reconciliations and variance review analysis
- Make use of internal analytical accounting system to report revenues, costs, margin by project and overheads detailed information to the management on a monthly basis
- Supervise and take responsibility for all cash management of the company, establishing relationship with banks and supervising collections (improving DSO), payments, communicating fraud prevention policies and others
- Manage shared employees within the finance function (accounting, tax, treasury and facilities) of the company
- Follow up and close monitoring of the order processing function and backlog of maintenance renewals
- Evaluate company’s financial activities for constant improvements and a continual increase of operating efficiencies and to support operational decisions
- Actively implement processes to optimize the performance of the company by reducing expenses and/or reducing risks
- Interface with third-party supplier responsible for preparing the payroll and benefits management, managing confidential information and reviewing its accurate registration and payment
- Be the main interface with local and regional leaders to provide general support to the business and alignment with other activities
- Provide leadership to new employees, communicating processes and assisting them in accordance to their needs
-Bachelor's degree in accounting, administration, economy, or related areas
-Years in similar roles, having leadership experience
-Advanced English (written and spoken) / Spanish is a plus
-Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
-Experience working with ERP TOTVS Protheus
-Proactive, data driven and detailed-oriented profile, self-directed and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment
-Experience with multinational companies
-Good interpersonal and leadership skills
-Familiar with generally accepted accounting principles (US) and IFRS
