We are actively seeking a  Sr. Director, Controller - LATAM.  This position is based in Brazil, São Paulo office.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Director, Controller- LATAM to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing financial operations across the Latin American region, ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate policies. This position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams shaping and executing financial plans, driving performance, and fostering a culture of financial excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Controller will provide strategic financial leadership for the LATAM region, steering financial performance and aligning objectives with broader business goals.
• Oversee and optimize the day-to-day accounting operations for the Latin American region. This includes managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in ledger entries, and maintaining a robust financial infrastructure. This role will involve coordinating with corporate accounting teams and local service providers to streamline processes, reconcile accounts, and drive efficiency in financial reporting.
• Subject matter expert in local accounting standards applicable to the LATAM region, staying abreast of changes in accounting regulations, interpreting complex financial standards, and implementing accounting policies to ensure compliance.
• Lead initiatives to enhance financial processes, increase operational efficiency, and implement best practices ensuring compliance with both local regulations and corporate guidelines. This involves identifying areas for improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement changes, and leveraging technology to automate and streamline financial workflows.
• Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and other compliance obligations specific to the LATAM region.
• Lead and coordinate audit activities, both internal and external, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process. This involves preparing audit schedules, liaising with auditors, and addressing inquiries to facilitate accurate and timely audits.

Desired Qualifications & Skills

• A comprehensive understanding of local accounting standards and regulatory compliance in the LATAM region is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal acumen with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to explain complex accounting principles and financial results to senior leadership.
• Exceptional critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot and develop systemic solutions for complex problems.
• Solid analysis skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with ERP systems

Experience

• 15+ years related experience in financial leadership roles, with a focus on Latin America operations and responsibility for Controller activities.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from recognized institution(s) of excellence.
• Master’s degree, CPA preferred.

Language

• Fluency in both English & Portuguese is required.
