Summary

The FINEOS products are built on a set of carefully chosen technologies that provide a safe, stable, productive, and cost-effective platform to create, implement and operate the industry leading product suite.
The Platform Product Management team’s goals include: -
- Cloud platform automation to minimize AWS customer cloud fees (as a ratio of cloud subs), third party software costs and the staff costs associated with solution deployment and monitoring.
- Excellent project experience for FINEOS Product Consulting, customers, and Systems Integrators, including configuration tools that are self-sufficiency enabled, upgrade-safe and product SLA compliant.
- Make optimum use of available technologies to empower FINEOS product engineers to create best in class experiences, at scale, in a cost-effective manner.
Reporting to the SVP, Platform, the Product Manager, Developer Experience drives the third goal above, securing appropriate funding, driving the roadmap, and promoting adoption across our development teams.
Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Create and maintain a comprehensive roadmap of investments to enhance developer experience and efficiency.
- Roadmap prioritized based on close engagement with the FINEOS developer community, technology opportunities, market demands of the suite as communicated via application Product Managers, as well as projected measurable ROI and the constraints of the given investment envelope.
- The roadmap will be a living artefact, communicated frequently to stakeholders.
- Work with the SVP, Platform to secure appropriate R&D funding.
- Define epics and work closely with Platform Engineering on feature execution through the agile development lifecycle.
- Find creative ways to expedite and accelerate getting new technologies into the hands of developers.
- Work closely with ADM leaders in Engineering to: -
- Understand their environment, challenges, and opportunities. Hear their suggestions for opportunities to improve DX and productivity through the adoption of new platform capabilities or enhancements to existing capabilities.
- Ensure ongoing close alignment of the Platform roadmap with the Engineering budget and roadmap for SDLC effectiveness.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and measure the impact of platform investments on product / platform developer productivity.
- Allow end user capabilities to be delivered in new ways - driven by demands from application product managers, e.g., via the adoption of new technologies and libraries.
- Help them drive the adoption of new technologies across development teams, measuring and improving their effectiveness. Understand and help resolve any blockers to successful adoption of platform capabilities. Allow end user capabilities to be delivered in new ways.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the vision and strategy for the Platform at large, identifying and tracking relevant technology trends. Define new investment propositions. Contribute to FINEOS’ SaaS evolution strategy.
- Stay highly informed about industry trends, best practices, competitor approaches, and relevant emerging technologies to identify opportunities for efficiencies and innovation.

- Education, training, definition and enforcement of standards all remain with Engineering team. This role will collaborate closely as new platform technologies require corresponding changes in those domains.

Education and/or Experience
- Experience and knowledge of the FINEOS Platform from a developer perspective, and ability to evangelize new features within the FINEOS developer community.
- Ability to gather inputs from stakeholders, understand their needs, and transform into implementable concepts within a ranked backlog, and with clearly explained rationale.
- Familiarity with: -
- FINEOS applications and platform.
- FINEOS’ insurance problem domain.
- AWS infrastructure and services.
- Best practice SaaS principles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Passionate about developments in the software engineering industry, with an ability to visualize where these new technologies could usefully map to FINEOS use cases.
- Very metrics-driven.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience and knowledge of the FINEOS Platform from a developer perspective, and ability to evangelize new features within the FINEOS developer community.
